StorageCraft Granular Recovery for Exchange
Organizations need a reliable way to manage emails, calendars, folders, contacts, etc. In fact, much of an organization’s critical information between employees, customers, and partners takes place through email. Microsoft Exchange has proven to be the dominant global leader in the on-premise corporate email market. Whether you use Microsoft Exchange or not, it has become the heart of communication in organizations both large and small.
Unfortunately, not all Microsoft Exchange Servers are managed or maintained equally. In today’s fast-paced business world, users can’t afford delays in communication or the inability to retrieve critical information when they need it most. And for those who accidentally delete an email, or just can’t seem to find that all-important email from a month or so ago, it can be extremely costly and inefficient to the business if the proper tools are not already in place to help recover quickly and easily under these scenarios.
By adding award-winning StorageCraft Granular Recovery for Exchange to backup and recovery tools already in place, administrators and service providers can perform complete granular search and recovery capabilities for Microsoft Exchange at the click of a button. StorageCraft Granular Recovery for Exchange allows administrators to quickly recover individual email messages, mailboxes, attachments, or even multiple mailboxes directly from an Exchange database (EDB) file. The easy-to-use interface enables an administrator to recover from an Exchange backup to a production Exchange server or PST file in minutes. They can quickly navigate to a specific mailbox and simply drag-and-drop the entire mailbox to the end user’s production environment, or recover individual email messages, attachments, or other mailbox items as needed.
StorageCraft offers two Granular Recovery for Exchange options:
StorageCraft Granular Recovery for Exchange
Use with your existing brand of backup software.

ShadowProtect Granular Recovery for Exchange
Use with StorageCraft backup software only.

How it Works:

2. Extract the EDB file and transaction logs from other backup software, or mount a StorageCraft ShadowProtect backup as a writable image, and place in a local directory.
3. Launch StorageCraft Granular Recovery for Exchange and access the Exchange EDB file.
4. Recover mailboxes, email messages, and attachments or search for messages based on criteria you specify.

- Use an asterisk (*) at the end of a word to search wildcard or unknown terms
- Select either “match all fields” or “match any fields” to narrow or broaden your search
- Limit search parameters to before or after a point in time or to a window of time
- Search just one specific folder or mailbox for emails and other message items to recover
- Search all mailboxes in an Exchange database at once (instead of going through one mailbox at a time) for emails and other message items to recover
Recovery
Recover lost or deleted Exchange emails, email attachments, address book contacts, mailboxes, and more, all with minimal time and effort.
- Drag-and-drop or right-click to easily recover items from an Exchange backup image to your Exchange server or a .PST file
- Restore one or more email messages (and their attachments), folders, contacts, and other message items directly to the production Exchange server or a .PST file
- Restore a single mailbox or bulk mailboxes, contents included, to the production Exchange server
